Launch Equmen as the first-to-market for the shapewear for men category, highlighting how to integrate athletic performance apparel into the daily lifestyle of male consumers.
Strategy:
Position the brand as a necessity to improve back posture, hide love handles and flatten the appearance of the beer-belly. Pierce Mattie PR strategically seeded the tanks, t-shirts and underwear to Manhattan’s yellow-cab drivers to wear during their work shifts, which was then featured on television.
Results:
Coverage was secured in a diverse array of outlets, including FOX News, CBS Sunday Morning, CBC, Men’s Health, AOL, Thrillist, WWD, Financial Times, LA Times and a feature article in TIME Magazine. Equmen sold out at both their Saks and Holt Renfrew doors.
