Sarafpour Sets Her Eyes on a New Target

Todd Oldham did it first. Isacic Mizrahi and Cynthia Rowely followed shortly after. And now, designer Behnaz Sarafpour has agreed to serve at Target’s newest guest designer. Sarafpour will launch the fourth design initiative of Target’s successful Go International series. The collection will feature affordable yet stylish pieces that reflect a cosmopolitan sensibility and Sarafpour’s personal style.

Sarafpour was born in Iran and started working for Anne Klein before graduating from Parsons School of Design. She has also worked with Narciso Rodriguez, Louis Dell'Olio, and Richard Tyler. Sarfpour names Isaac Mizrahi as her mentor and is adored by Vogue’s Anna Wintour. Sarafpour is best known for her feminine easy to wear pieces that emphasize the female silhouette.

Both Target and Sarfpour have remained quiet about the details of their newly formed partnership. Sarfpour’s line will be shown to a select group of fashion press at an exclusive party at the Rockefeller Center on July 18.
