Nackie was destined to be in the beauty industry. Even
as a little girl growing up in the Florida Keys she would fish and dive with her nails painted, hair permed and a little lip gloss to finish. Her parents gave her a mannequin at age nine along with a book on braiding. One of her parents friends was a photographer and was always taking pictures in his studio. Of course Nackie would be around to help and be inspired. She would never forget that red lipgloss of the early eighties. After residing in St Petersburg, Florida the later part of her youth she went off to college as a fine arts major. During school she got into photography herself yet still not realizing where it would all take her. She would dress up her friends and do their hair and make-up. Finishing school she still felt drawn to beauty so she enrolled in cosmetology school. Her first day of school she knew there was more opportunity than just working in a salon. Working in salons she got a great education for hair dressers all over the world.
Nackie also got experience as a platform artist in hair shows working with an Italian based product, Actyva, Italy. Traveling around the world has always been an interest of her’s too. So after a few years in salons she decided to go off to Miami and then New York to pursue a free lance career. Today she works in fashion, advertising, and editorials. Nackie’s work has been featured in Self, Cosmo Girl, Vogue espanol, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, YM and many more. Free lancing has enabled her to travel around the world and pursue her dreams. She is constantly inspired by beauty and the world around her which of course makes her love her industry.
