Cat Fight for Bond

In Hollywood, you’re only as good as your last film. So where do you go after winning the coveted Oscar? For Charlize Theron, she followed-up her critical success in Monster with a poignant performance in North Country, which also garnered her much acclaim. She then turned her attention to her latest project, Aeon Flux, where she takes to the helms as a mysterious secret agent. But is she ready to go head to head with the number one agent in the world, 007?

The word around town is that Theron will join Daniel Craig in the new Bond film, taking the part of 007’s leading lady, a role that actresses fight tooth and nail for. I first heard the news while in London conducting the international launch for a new frangrance. And let me say, the London press is amazing to work with.

Back on topic. If the rumors are true, Theron will be following in a long line of well-known actresses including Teri Hatcher, Denise Richards and fellow Oscar winner, Halle Berry. According to London’s Daily Mirror, "[Theron] has been offered a deal she can’t refuse to play Bond’s sexy sidekick in the latest spy film, Casino Royale.” And for an actress who can have her pick of virtually any role she wants, choosing to be the new Bond girl is one career move that will keep her on the A-list for years to come.
