Yes men can be men again, and although men wont identifiy themselves as metrosexuals, they have learned a few things form the trend/fad. Experiencing the benefits of good grooming pays off. Men don’t actively seek out new skin care products- what often happens is that they observe or secretly use the skin-care products that their wives, girlfriends, sisters, friends, or even mothers use on a regular basis and discover that some of those products can actually work for men as well.
Several companies that once only served female consumers, including Nivea or Clinique, for example, have come up with new product lines made solely for men. For as long as I can remember, my mother has kept a blue tin of Nivea Crème on both her bathroom counter and bedside table. My father always seemed incredibly low-maintenance when it came to grooming products, but much to my surprise, I came home a couple years ago to find a couple Nivea for Men shaving products next to his sink. After years of watching my mom use Nivea and Nivea only, he decided that he, too, could benefit from skin-care products. After spending most of his life with a bare bathroom counter, he now swears by Nivea for Men’s “Moisturizing Shaving Foam” and “Replenishing Balm.” He’s even gotten my brother hooked.
Not only does Nivea for Men offer a variety of shaving products and balms, they also make a complete line of facial cleansers, moisturizers, deodorants, hair care, styling, and skin care products. Whether you have dry, oily, or sensitive skin, Nivea for Men has something great for every man.
Nivia is a brand that is doing things right in the men's grooming market. Our annalists have spotted Niva ads not so subliminally placed in blockbuster video games like Tom Clancy's new Splinter Cell Double Agent game. They have also are doing a full blown video game tie-in. While Niva is not the first to use videogames, (Axe spray on deodorant for men does it too) Nivia understands how to reach, influence and relate to a (future) target audience.
