I am an avid viewer of Desperate Housewives every Sunday night and enjoy that escape from reality into the fictionally lives of the women of Wisteria Lane. Today it was announced that by the year’s end, 16 inch doll’s in the likeness of Bree, Edie, Susan, Lynette and Gabrielle will be available.
The line of dolls is being made by Madame Alexander, who was also responsible for the Disney Heroine line of dolls that launched in 2006. The Desperate Housewives Dolls will be showcased this spring in the Fashion Doll Quarterly magazine.
The line of dolls comes on the heels of the success of the Desperate Housewives PC game for Windows XP. Desperate Housewives The Game, from Buena Vista Games, is where you become the newest housewife on Wisteria Lane, creating your own family and home and interacting with the infamous housewives themselves. As you uncover the secrets of the housewives, you also uncover secrets of your own.
So will the Desperate Housewives dolls be as successful as the game? What do you think?
