All of fashion seems to be in a festive mood these days with award season in full swing. Last week we celebrated Doo-Ri Chung's victory in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund competition. It was reported that just after she won she hopped on an airplane to Zurich as a finalist for the Euros Swiss Textiles Award.
And while sadly for Chung she did not take home the 100,000 Euro prize, she was certainly in good company. Antwerp-based designer Bruno Pieters was chosen as the winner. A worthy designer indeed, he is the first Belgian designer from Antwerp to ever present a couture collection in Paris. His fans include Karl Lagerfeld and Dries Van Noten.
Diane Pernet, of popular European fashion blog A Shaded View on Fashion has impressive first-hand coverage of the event. She was once president of the jury that awarded the prize. I would suggest checking out her synopsis of the event and fantastic photographs.
