Tommy Hilfiger, the father of American apparel has cashed in $1.6 billion from Apax Partners in exchange for his company this past week. Hilfiger now owns his own entertainment company, Tommy Hilfiger Entertainment. After his huge sellout, Hilfiger is placing a $20 million investment into a film called “Rags”; an inside look into the New York fashion industry. Hilfiger has owned his media company for over six years and he plans to invest quite a bit of capital and time into development and production.

The film will take a ground breaking look at the fashion industry from the viewpoints of a fashion publicist, model, aspiring designer, and a manager, just to name a few. The film was written by Dale S. Lewis and will act as director as well. Get ready for high-energy drama, laughter, and lust. The film will be a joint venture production along with Hilfiger’s son’s company, Young Rich and Famous Entertainment.
