Following the lead of some of today’s hottest female actresses, Julia Roberts jumps on the beauty endorsement bandwagon. Avon has announced that Roberts will be the new representing face of Avon. The campaign will pay out a cool salary of $2 to $4 million. Salma Hayek is also signed with Avon; however her pay stubs are a bit lower, averaging about $1 million annually.
Julia’s new endorsement deal comes at a perfect time; just as she was dropped as Dior’s spokeswoman. Apparently, Roberts was not famous enough to carry the weight of the House of Dior.
A few years after the release of the Erin Brockovich giant utility pollution story, played by the very talented Julia Roberts, another lawsuit is pending. In real life, Brockovich’s law firm, Massry and Vititoe, entered into a huge $6 billion lawsuit against the familiar makeup empire, Avon; claiming that unsolicited orders were shipped to their sweet sales representatives, followed by a demand for payment. It is quite interesting how cyclical and ironic the world is.
