Westwood goes under cover… in Scotland!

Last week Edinburgh hosted its first ever fashion festival. The peaceful, historic city in Scotland View image
was over run with modern day ‘fashionistas’ and ‘under-fed’ looking young models.

Heading up the show this week are Vivienne Westwood who is opening with a special one-off show designed for the festival entitled – ‘The Fabric Of Scotland’ which draws from her use of traditional Scottish textiles throughout her career – and of course adding a little Westwood flair!

Matthew Williamson followed with an impressive collection of pieces from the spring/summer 06 and autumn/winter 06/07 collections entitled “Then Now Next”.

It was the image of the Vivienne Westwood outfit that struck me most (as many of her pieces normally do!) But a common thought ran through my mind, the image of someone wearing the outfit walking down the street (more likely hiding in the bushes!) and it had the same effect as a lot of cat walk fashion – made me smile…

You never know, maybe one day this is the sort of thing we will wear to the office, or even a wedding!
