questions & answers about PR
At PMPR we believe that you should do what you love, (keep reading) and that success and recognition will be the result of your motivated interest and passion. PR executives have an 80 percent higher success rate for their clients if they love what they are pitching. And at PMPR, we do! We are beauty junkies... advocates actually, who cannot shut up about the newest product or the most fabulous service.
The beauty "lifestyle" and wellness industries are a 20 billion dollar per year industry. However, most of those dollars are lining the pockets of drugstore and department store brands thanks in part to their hefty advertising budgets and public relations firms. As an esthetician, an advocate for exercise and cosmetic surgery and as an overall public relations expert, Pierce felt that the professional beauty industry was not adequately represented. PMPR opened shop to be the voice for the true beauty "trailblazers".
Each PMPR publicist brings to the team a wealth of beauty, health or fitness experience. This first-person, professional industry experience gives PMPR publicists enhanced credibility and added insights that set them apart from other PR drones. Pierce and his team understand the importance of trade magazine editorial features, tradeshow exhibits, "How To" articles, continuing education and association memberships to build a successful brand.
Q: What exactly is it that PMPR does?
A: Although public relations seems to cover almost anything these days, PMPR has chosen to focus our energies on the traditional format of good, old-fashioned editorial placement. That is, we blitz our network of established media relationships with newsworthy attention-grabbers to get our clients featured in top magazines and in front of millions of television audience viewers. Our methods of deploying this information is anything but old-fashioned. We are the cutting edge in lifestyle, wellness & beauty PR!
PMPR is one of the few national public relations firm with a tri-focus of beauty, health and fitness. To maximize success, we have two departments of media communications; we have a consumer media department, which works with such media leaders as Vogue, MTV, Elle etc. and a trade or “B2B” department that hones in on publications such as WWD, American Spa, Pharmaceutical Executive and Club Industry. Q: What kind of clients do you represent?
A: Our tri-focus of beauty, health and fitness is divided into three sub-departments under the PMPR umbrella. As part of our consumer packaged goods department, we currently represent several professional-only skin care lines that have both retail and professional-sized packaging. Additionally, our CPG department includes body care lines used by massage therapists; cosmetics for make-up artists and hair care lines for both consumers and salons.

Our fitness department includes gyms, resort facilities, workout equipment manufacturers and nutritional supplements. In our cosmetic health department, we currently represent plastic surgeons, dermatologists, cosmetic dentists, nutritionists, chiropractors and holistic practitioners.

Q: Why would someone choose PMPR over another firm?
A: Because the PR in PMPR means we are in the business of PR. We are not a marketing agency, a consulting firm, an Internet Website developer, a product distributor or an advertising firm. We feel that the best way to be experts in the field of public relations is to focus all of our energies on public relations. PMPR is not a “Jack of all trades, master of none.” We are focused on what we do and we do it well.
We also do not name drop. PMPR works under the Public Privacy Agreement, an in-house policy issued by us to the professional beauty industry. Under the Public Privacy (PP) Agreement, complete discretion is ensured to the clients we represent. PMPR will not post client listings on the company Website or flash it around for prospective clients to see. At PMPR, we believe we can effectively tout our success without relying on the name-recognition of our clients. Back to top.
